We may collect your name and contact details, emergency contact details, your date of birth to confirm adult eligibility and support accurate client identification, yoga experience and goals, hands-on adjustment preferences, consent choices, and limited health or studio-sensitivity information relevant to safe participation. Our new-client form does not ask for your residential address, Medicare or private-health details, GP details, medication list or general medical history.
We use this information to onboard clients, support safe participation, personalise sessions, communicate about services, respond appropriately in an emergency, maintain necessary records, and meet applicable legal or insurance requirements. Health information collected through onboarding is not used for marketing unless you separately consent.
Where applicable, health information is handled in accordance with the Victorian Health Records Act 2001 and the Health Privacy Principles. We ask for consent before collecting health information through our onboarding form and aim to collect only information relevant to safe participation.
We use technology service providers, including Cloudflare, to host the website and process and store form submissions. Cloud infrastructure may involve processing outside Victoria and potentially outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect information when service providers are used.
We use access controls and technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access to client health information is restricted to those who need it for the purposes described in this policy. We do not intentionally send client health information in ordinary email notifications.
We do not sell client information. We use or disclose information for the purpose for which it was collected, a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, with your consent, or where otherwise permitted or required by law. Relevant information may be used or disclosed in an emergency where lawful and reasonably necessary.
We keep personal and health information only for as long as reasonably required for service, legal, insurance or record-keeping purposes and any applicable minimum retention period. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it where permitted.
You may ask to access or correct personal or health information we hold about you. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law.
